Dolentis (278, 162)#47

Beneath their white star banners, the yellow-cloaked guardians of humanity's racial purity stand watch at the gates of Dolentis. Non-humans and those who they suspect to be of impure blood may be allowed to enter the city but they face a range of laws and sanctions, designed to protect the human population from contamination from their degenerate ways. Many regard those turned away at the gates as more fortunate than those who were allowed in but obliged to live under the laws of the Fratri Hominis.

Trade description

As with all Fratri Hominis markets, that of Dolentis is white; from its alabaster pillars and moonstone roof, to its nightly-painted whitewashed walls, everything about the market reminds the visiting merchant of the central tenet of the Fratri Hominis credo – racial purity. To be a pureblood human here is to be the elite, and as such, the best prices and the finest goods are to be had. Not so, the merchants of other races, for they are treated as the underdogs they are believed to be, and are subject to many sanctions and open humiliation. The Greenskin merchant however, may consider himself to be the most fortunate of non-human traders... for mostly, he will never be allowed through the city gates, much less be allowed to trade with the Fratri Hominis.

Doloria (331, 280)#49

Doloria stands as a beacon to hope for humanity's future... or, depending on one's perspective, it stands as an insult to every Elf, Orc, Dwarf, Gnome, Halfling and Goblin on Elgea. Here, defended by their elite corps of Purifiers, the rulers of the Fratri Hominis draft the laws which they hope will one day govern the continent, which will keep humans safe from the other, degenerate, races, by reducing all others to the status of slaves. Here they train their armies, to protect humanity from the hordes of Greenskins to the east. This is the seat of power of the Fratri Hominis, and it is a great shame, say their many enemies, that the walls of their huge stronghold defy any possibility of conquest.

Trade description

With its pillars of purest white alabaster, roof of shining moonstone, and nightly-painted whitewashed walls, the market of Doloria is truly a sight to behold... even non-humans readily admit this. For the pureblood human trader, Doloria’s market is a wondrous place; many bargains are to be had, and, it is said, the Dolorian merchants are among the most civilised and refined in all Elgea. For others however, it is a different story; the Fratri Hominis makes no secret of the fact that, for those of other races, or of impure blood, they inflate their prices – in fact, it seems they take great delight in it. Given the sanctions placed upon the non-human trader (no looking directly into the eyes of any pureblood human, no inspecting of goods before buying, no recourse or refunds on substandard goods, no trading in silk, velvet or other luxury fabrics, no trading in books, scientific equipment, gems, precious metals, or weapons, no shoes to be worn in the marketplace... the list goes on), the biggest wonder of the Dolorian market is why any other race would even consider trading with the Fratri Hominis.

Veritas (402, 154)#48

Veritas stands on the front line, as the Fratri Hominis see it, between the fledgling civilisations of humanity, centred to the south and west, and the hordes of impurity, barbarity and destruction which reside to the north and east. Here, beneath their white star banners, the yellow-cloaked guardians of humanity train and plan to make a stand against the Greenskins of the east, and any others who might threaten humanity's rise to dominion over Elgea.

Trade description

It has been reported by many that the market of Veritas is like no other, and this is certainly true, for unlike the colourful markets of the Illyria Trade Council, or the dun stalls of the Pax Orcana, the Veritas centre of commerce is completely white. Whiter than a Daedalon’s eye. Whiter than the arrogant rage of a thwarted Lannigold. Its pillars are crafted from the finest alabaster. Its roof from polished moonstone. And the walls are repainted each and every night by an army of Fratri Hominis domestics, so that with each new day, all who do business here may be reminded of the importance of racial purity.

Recorded faction changes
